What it does / how it works
A bacterial enzyme that cuts SNARE proteins so the muscle cannot release acetylcholine. Dosed in brand-specific units, never like a peptide.
| Class | SNARE-cleaving neurotoxin |
| Typical vial | 100 IU |
| Reconstitution | Preserved saline per product insert. Units are brand-specific. |
| Storage after mix | 2–8°C, use within 28 days |
Protocol
| Goal | Dose | How often | How long | Route |
| Glabella example (onabotulinumtoxinA) | 20 U total across sites | Once | Repeat ≥12 weeks | IM into target muscle |
Watch: Never use milligram peptide logic. Wrong units can cause widespread weakness.
